I often get bored with ongoing TV series but after 5 years The Apprentice still excites me and I am looking forward to its return tonight. I'm not sure if it's the cringe worthy moments or the wannabes that make this show addictive but I honestly believe that as a TV show it has changed the way the country views business.

Now some of you may think that I am biased with my views on this but Lord Alan Sugar over the years has made business exciting and accessible to the youth of Britain. No longer do they find business boring or think you have to be an academic genius to be successful in it. The 16 year olds who watched my series are now applying for jobs with me and have a real appetite for business in the real world.

I am very proud to be associated with the show and as usual will be watching tonight from behind a pillow as every year there are characters that make me want to crawl up my own backside!
